10 ways to make your business listing stand out

Customers scanning a directory decide in seconds. They compare a name, a short description and a handful of details, then pick one business to call. These ten changes make yours the one they choose.

1. Use a title that says what you do and where

“Drain Cleaning Services in Loganville” tells a searcher more than a company name alone. Lead with the service, then the city.

2. Choose the most specific category

If you fit more than one of our 48 categories, pick the one your best customers would browse first. A dental practice belongs in Dental Care, not Healthcare.

3. Write the first sentence for a stranger

Assume the reader has never heard of you. Say who you help, what you do for them and why it’s easy to start.

4. Keep phone and address identical everywhere

Match the format on your website and Google profile exactly. Consistency builds trust with customers and with search engines.

The best listings answer the three questions every customer has: what do you do, where are you, and how do I reach you?

5. Add a real logo or a clean website screenshot

A clear image helps your card stand out in a grid. Use a high-resolution logo on a plain background.

6. Link to the right page, not just your homepage

If your listing is about Invisalign, link to your Invisalign page. Send visitors straight to the answer.

7. Ask happy customers for a review

A short, specific review from a real customer does more than any slogan. Ask right after a job goes well.

8. Keep hours current

Nothing loses a customer faster than a closed door during “open” hours. Update holiday hours ahead of time.

9. Mention the areas you serve

If you travel to nearby towns, name them. People often search for the town they live in, not the one you’re based in.

10. Make the next step obvious

End your description with one clear action: call, book a consultation or visit your showroom.
